Course: Nominated Person, Flight Operations

If you have been nominated to hold responsibility for flight operations in a commercial air transport operator then you will need to demonstrate to the ‘Competent Authority’ that you have the necessary qualifications and experience. The Competent Authority will ask for a resume and may conduct an interview. You will need to show that you understand the regulations in that interview but, more importantly, you will need to be able to refer to the regulations in your daily work.

Training Objective

After attending this course you will understand the regulatory requirements for flight operations in a commercial air transport operator and will be able to use the Regulations to find the information you need in your daily work.

Who should attend?

The seminar is aimed at people who have, or have been nominated to have, responsibility for flight operations in a commercial air transport operation (airline or charter operator). The course may also be useful for personnel from non-commercial aircraft operators, training organisations, inspectors and auditors.

Content

The content of the training can be tailored to suit your particular needs but would typically include:

  • The European regulatory system;
  • Structure and applicability of the European regulations, especially for air operations and aircrew;
  • The operations manual;
  • Crew requirements;
  • Fatigues avoidance (flight time limitations);
  • Flight planning and fuel;
  • Mass and balance, performance;
  • Instruments, data and equipment;
  • Specific approvals (PBN, RVSM, LVO, etc.)
  • Safety Management;
  • Compliance monitoring;
  • The role of the Competent Authority.

The content of the course can be tailored to the needs of your particular organisation and operation.

Duration

The course runs over two days, lasting for approximately 6 hours each day (including coffee breaks and a lunch break).

Location

As the client you may choose to attend the McKechnie training facility in West Sussex or we can deliver the training at your own headquarters or training location.

Price

The cost of a private seminar for up to 6 delegates at our facility in West Sussex (close to Gatwick Airport) is £4080. This includes lunch and refreshments.

If you would like the course to be delivered at your premises then we will make an additionally charge for travel time and costs.
